Insane #8 Turquoise Cuff

There is the tiniest pitting & a very small fracture in this natural specimen of American turquoise from the Number 8 mine. They are there but hardly noticeable as you can maybe tell in the pictures.
Deeply woven into the fabric of 20th-century American mining lore, in the world of American turquoise, the #8 mine is royalty.
The #8 mine was active since 1929 by the 1950’s the mine was a powerhouse. Turquoise is concentrated along quartz veins in the intrusive rock and along faults in the sedimentary rocks. The mine has produced one of the most prized spider web turquoise deposits in the world. More commonly recognized by the brownish red & amber spider web matrix.
The mine is now depleted, #8 turquoise is rare & valuable. The closure of the #8 turquoise mine in 1976 transformed its output from a commodity into a true collectible. Owning a piece is like holding a time capsule.
Stone measures 1.5” X 1” at its widest
Cuff measurements 5.5” around the inside with 1.5” opening
Stone is wrapped in fine silver and sits atop a lightweight Sterling split band cuff
