Be Here Now

“Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.”

I ain’t gonna lie often times I would rather be there in this picture... Have you noticed how sometimes in the present moment you are living out your dream from months back yet you are too caught up in the next daydream to appreciate where you are presently? Yeah me too! That happened to me just this weekend as we were scratching a project off of our list that we’ve talked about doing for years (about 4 to be exact). In the moment, I wasn’t so stoked about it. I’d rather be doing something else honestly. Like I was dreading it. Isnt that funny how that happens. But then I remembered how long we had wanted to do this thing and it changed my perspective. Perspective can be everything.

I can remember when owning our home was my big dream.  That dream has manifest and has brought with it so many daydreams of possibilities to create around and within that very home.

We’d never have any peace or joy if we are always so focused on more and the next big thing. It’s crucial that we stop and appreciate where we are. Here and now. With gratitude for all the things we have and have done. Being aware and paying attention to our everyday blessings. A home, food to eat, clothes on our back, cars to drive, a family to love and be loved by, the time to get around to those nearly long lost to-dos. These can seem like simple things to us but not so simple to someone else.

Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come. Then we have our daydreams, goals and aspirations with the action steps we need to take to accomplish and attract those things into our life. But we can’t lose ourselves in the next big daydream and totally forget to be grateful for what we have and where we are now. As we trust all of those other things are on there way to us too. In divine time. If not we are always living for the next day or next weekend or month and we are not living in the gift of the present. It is such a delicate balance. To feel our daydreams with such passion yet live in gratitude for the beauty of the present moments. I can personally agree that it’s not always the easiest thing to do but it is the most important. Don’t ya think?

All my love,

J
